Through a strange progression of dead ends, black holes, and people working tirelessly on my account, I found myself in the unlikely position of recording a record for an American major, Capitol. Gary Gersh, the then president of Capitol, had heard me … and decided that what the world needed was a Jeb Loy Nichols record. The world was, of course, giddy with anticipation.

And so I found myself in Woodstock, in upstate New York, at Bearsville studio, surrounded by a phenomenally talented group of people. We all sat around for two weeks playing songs and then playing them again and then playing them again just for fun. It was an easy, relaxed time.
