I met Ian a few years ago. I'd been a big fan of the band he was in with Nick Lowe in the 70's, Brinsley Schwarz, and when I found out he was living ten miles from me in Wales I introduced myself. We started meeting up every week, we'd play some music and listen to old soul records. It was so much fun and sounded so great we decided to record it. It was a pleasure - An American and an Englishman singing soul and country, recorded in Wales, mixed in Nashville, released in Japan.
