There are a lot of good things about this record. Mark Nevers did a great production job and Clayton Ivey, my favourite southern musician, played on it. And Dan Penn sang harmony! You can’t argue with that. And Dennis Bovell mixed a track! We could’ve lost at least one song, but I’m proud of Painted My Dream House Blue, Bad Fruit, Ever Feel Like Leaving, and Sometimes Shooting Stars.
